Topic Selection Rough Draft

Born on October 4, 1941 to Oscr and Birdie Eckford was Elizabeth Ann Eckford. She was one of six children. Her mother taught at a segregated state school for blind and deaf children and her father worked at nights as a dining car maintainece worker. 

But who would ever think that sixteen years later she would make an effort to change black America in the 1950's. She made history as a member of Little Rock Nine, the nine African American students who desegregation Little Rock Central High School. 

Walking Alone through a screaming mob of furious caucasion students making "smart" remarks must have been scary. Despite the obstacles she faced as African American woman in the segregated world of the 1950's, Elizabeth Ann Eckford had enough courage to the attend Little Rock Central High, an all white school.
