Service learning Project

Last friday on April 25th, we discussed the information that we researched on darfur. We then exchanged this information and copied it off the board in to our notes. We then distributed and passed out folders to keep our info organized.

Now we have to choose and assign different roles to each person in our group. The six different roles are facilitator, recorder, reporter, materials manager, time keeper, and checker. I would like to be the recorder because i take vivid and clear, understandable notes so that the group can keep up with what each meeting was about so that we can go further with this project. 

Service Learning Project

Last Friday on April 11, 2008 we had meet up to talk about our service learning projects. The project that I joined was the Africa project. I joined this group because Mr. Brasof showed "us" a documentary of how life is for teenage high schoolers in Africa. This documentary inspired and motivated me to want to help "them" the kids in Africa. When we had our meeting we talked about different ways to gain money for fundraisers and donations. Some ideas consist of bake sales, fashion shows, dance benefits, donate clothes, care packiging, and even more. We then narrowed our ideas down to three major ones including adopt a classroom, buy an animal, and clothes// and personal needs. We also agreed and suggested to do more research on Africa so that we can have a better understanding.

For my service learning  project I joined the Africa group lead by other peers and Mr. Brasof. The reason for joining this group is because we just watched a documentary on how life is for teenage students in Africa and it inspired and motivated me to reach out and help them because they are struggling.  My service learning project is coming along. Last Friday on the 11th of April, we had a meeting to narrow down our ideas. We had came up with ways to raise/gain money including bake sales, walk-a-a thon, care packaging,dance benefits, and donations of clothes, and a fashion show
